Truly relaxing stay. Deluxe hotel with marina view. Take a look at Southwest district, it's worth it. Thoroughly enjoyed to hang out in the center, it's at walking distance from the property. Deluxe king room was with an individual safe, a flat-screen TV and a mini-fridge-bar. Pool is very relaxing too.

We liked its close proximity to the Washington Mall. We liked the Sou Wester Restaurant the most because of the Chef, Manager Jenifer, staff, waitors, and waitresses. They were the most professional and accomodating and proficient. They get 5 Stars!
What I did not like about the mo, in D.C.: The Feng Shui is off, the lobby, entrance, lounge, wait area, and is uncomfortable. The management should bring in a Feng Shui professional and they will pick this up right away. The lobby, bar, lounge is not inviting and the chi flow is blocked. Also, City Zen, is noisier than the us Airways Terminal. I found the terminal atmosphere way more Zen, than City Zen. The staff is so uptight, it really does not project a friendliness to the persons dinning. It was so noisy, it was more like a roar! City Zen, "Just ain't all that"! It could be so much more! On a scale of 1-10, the experience was 5. Sue Wester far surpased City Zen. And when I complained to my waitor and manager of the ear piercing laughter coming from the bar area, the response was an arrogant annoyance rather than one of concern. In fact your star chef came out at least 3 times to see who was laughing like that. A two hour dinner was disturbed by two hours of piercing laughter by some woman at the bar. Really she should have picked up my check. However, I believe that City Zen's Manager could have been very polite and diplomatic and told this one person, please tone it down a dinner guest from at least 30 yards complained. On my next visit to D.C., I will probably try the Ritz or the Four Seasons because of this. However, I will return to Sou Wester anytime. They were great.

We took our friends and business partners on a east coast vacation trip. Our last stop was the Mandarin Oriental. What a wonderful end to a great vacation!! We only wish we could have spent more time at your magnificent hotel. Everyone we had contact with were very cordial and accommodating. We will definitely return for a longer stay to see some of the sights we missed on this trip. We will also be staying at your great hotel. Thank you for all the wonderful service, till next time. I truly appreciate the ease with which we got the two smoking rooms adjoining each other, it was instrumental in choosing your hotel. Robert & Catherine Aganon

Very comfortable, the staff was great and very willing to make accommodations.
It's a little pricey, even for simple things like a pot of coffee in the morning.

Great location and nice sized suite with very. Pleasant and helpful staff. Pool was really nice.
Not worth the money when compared to all other 4 & 5 star hotels I have stayed with. They nickel and dime you for everything including Internet which these days is rediculous. They pleasantly park your car but never mentioned the $50/ day fee and our room was so loud from people partying all night I had to call to complain. All I this is acceptable for a budget hotel but not what I expect from a luxury establishment. I will not return to the mandarin anytime soon
